Product description

APOH binds to various kinds of negatively charged substances such as heparin, phospholipids, and dextran sulfate. APOH may prevent activation of the intrinsic blood coagulation cascade by binding to phospholipids on the surface of damaged cells.

For research use only.

Research target context

APOHapolipoprotein H

View target guide

Apolipoprotein H (APOH), also known as beta-2-glycoprotein 1 (B2GPI), is a circulating plasma glycoprotein that associates with lipoproteins and anionic phospholipid surfaces. It is studied in lipoprotein metabolism, coagulation and antiphospholipid-antibody biology.

Biological function: APOH/beta-2-glycoprotein 1 is a plasma lipoprotein-associated glycoprotein with affinity for negatively charged phospholipid surfaces. NCBI describes roles and associations in lipoprotein metabolism, coagulation and hemostasis, and notes that beta-2-GPI can act as a cofactor for antiphospholipid autoantibody binding.
