Preclinical & Cell-Based Research Services
Preclinical research and custom cell-based assays. Discuss models, controls, endpoints, cytotoxicity, flow cytometry and study documentation with ABMIUM.
Specification reviewed before feasibility, pricing and lead time are confirmed.

Built around the experiment
Your project. A defined technical scope.
ABMIUM coordinates cell-based and preclinical research packages around a defined scientific question. Projects can connect material generation to in vitro functional assays or a separately designed animal study. Specify the test article, biological model, controls, endpoints and reporting needs. A useful study produces evidence for the question being asked, with the proposed methods and scope made clear before work begins.
Specialist ProMab service routes can be coordinated through ABMIUM. Your quotation identifies the selected provider, agreed stages, available documentation and material or experimental deliverables.
ABMIUM reviews your specification and coordinates suitable custom-service and manufacturing routes. The proposed provider or manufacturer, available documentation and agreed scope are stated before order.

Technical scope
Discuss a tumour model matched to your research question, including target expression, test article and control groups. Tumour-initiating or cancer-stem-cell model enquiries can be reviewed where relevant. Study design, animal approvals, endpoints and available models are confirmed with the provider.
Imaging, tissue analysis and additional endpoints
Explore bioluminescence imaging, tumour measurements, histopathology, IHC and gene-expression analysis within a defined study. Pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic or toxicology questions can be raised...
Technical scope
Explore bioluminescence imaging, tumour measurements, histopathology, IHC and gene-expression analysis within a defined study. Pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic or toxicology questions can be raised for feasibility review. Specify sampling and reporting requirements; a general preclinical service does not automatically constitute a regulatory study.
Cell sorting
Request a specified cell population for a downstream research experiment. Include sample type, markers, gating controls, desired purity, viable-cell amount and handling...
Technical scope
Request a specified cell population for a downstream research experiment. Include sample type, markers, gating controls, desired purity, viable-cell amount and handling constraints. The technical review confirms whether the sample and sorting approach are suitable.
T-cell specificity assays
Define the recognition question, antigen or target cells and test population. Include relevant controls and the response measurement required. The provider confirms...
Technical scope
Define the recognition question, antigen or target cells and test population. Include relevant controls and the response measurement required. The provider confirms the available assay format and interpretation scope.
T-cell activation and proliferation
Scope an activation or proliferation study around defined stimulation, controls and time points. State the cell source and markers or response readouts...

Technical scope
Request measurement of selected cytokines in a relevant research matrix. Provide analytes, species, sample volume, anticipated range and controls. The quotation identifies the measurement method and reporting scope.
Macrophage polarisation assays
Discuss macrophage responses under defined stimulation or test-article conditions. State the cell source, phenotype markers and functional measurements needed; availability and methods...
Technical scope
Discuss macrophage responses under defined stimulation or test-article conditions. State the cell source, phenotype markers and functional measurements needed; availability and methods are confirmed as a specialist project.
Dendritic-cell migration assays
Describe the migration question, cell preparation and stimulus. Include endpoint, sampling and control requirements. This specialist route is assessed for technical feasibility...
Technical scope
Describe the migration question, cell preparation and stimulus. Include endpoint, sampling and control requirements. This specialist route is assessed for technical feasibility before a study method and quotation are agreed.
Connect the service to your research
Research applications
CAR and immune-cell assessment
Connect engineered-cell generation to expression, target killing and cytokine-response experiments.
Antibody functional research
Assess the biological activity of antibody or bispecific candidates in an appropriate experimental model.
Preclinical proof of concept
Build a defined evidence package around model selection, controls, measurements and final research reporting.
Tumour-initiating cell research
Discuss a tumour-initiating-cell question with the model, starting material and endpoints clearly identified. Available models and study conditions are confirmed by the proposed provider.
Cancer-stem-cell research
Explore a defined cancer-stem-cell model or experimental requirement. Specify phenotype, source and the evidence needed to interpret the study rather than treating a model label as proof of biological behaviour.
PK, PD and toxicology enquiries
Raise pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic or toxicology requirements as a separate technical enquiry. Include test article, model, dose, sampling, analysis and intended regulatory context so the provider can assess the appropriate scope.
Agree the output before work begins

- A study plan with models, methods, controls and agreed endpoints.
- Experimental results for the assays and time points commissioned.
- Analysis, imaging or tissue readouts included in the scope.

Clear answers before you enquire
Frequently asked questions
Can I request only flow cytometry or a cell-based assay?
Yes. Standalone analytical work can be assessed. Provide samples, markers, controls and the measurement or sorting output you need.
Can you connect a CAR project to an animal study?
A linked programme can be discussed, with in vitro results and model suitability informing a separate preclinical study scope.
Can imaging and IHC be included?
Specify the required imaging, tissue collection and IHC endpoints so feasibility, methods and reporting can be confirmed.
Are all studies GLP or suitable for regulatory submission?
No blanket claim is made. State the intended regulatory context and documentation needs at enquiry so the appropriate provider and study framework can be assessed.
How do we choose a relevant cell-based assay model?
Start with the mechanism and the decision your result must support. Consider target expression, species, cell context and the relationship between the model and the study question. Define controls, exposure conditions, endpoints and analysis before work starts.
Are all preclinical studies GLP or suitable for regulatory submission?
No. Research studies and regulated programmes have different requirements. Specify your intended use and quality-system needs during enquiry. The provider, methods, records, study design and reporting standard must be agreed; a research result should not be presented as regulatory evidence without the relevant scope.
What affects the cost of preclinical & cell-based research services?
Pricing depends on model choice, number of conditions, controls, study duration, endpoints and reporting requirements. ABMIUM provides a project-specific quotation after reviewing the requirement. Ask for a breakdown of stages, deliverables, optional studies and further-work decision points so you can compare the total scope rather than an entry price alone.
