Built around the experiment

Your project. A defined technical scope.

A multiplex assay measures several targets within an agreed workflow. ABMIUM reviews custom panel requirements when standard panels do not cover the analytes, species, matrix or sample-volume limits of your study. The project begins with the research question and complete analyte list. Individual target performance and panel-level interactions both need consideration, so adding targets is a development decision rather than a simple catalogue substitution.

ABMIUM reviews your specification and coordinates suitable custom-service and manufacturing routes. The proposed provider or manufacturer, available documentation and agreed scope are stated before order.

Technical scope

List every target, species and expected concentration range, identifying the essential analytes and optional additions. Explain whether the panel will support discovery, longitudinal monitoring or a focused experimental comparison. This helps define sensible development priorities.

Clear answers before you enquire

Frequently asked questions

Can I combine analytes from different standard panels?

Request a feasibility review with the full target list. Reagent and assay compatibility must be assessed before a combined panel is confirmed.

Can a panel be built for small sample volumes?

State the available volume and matrix. The review considers whether the proposed platform, dilution and sensitivity can support that constraint.

Is each target validated separately?

Specify both analyte-level and panel-level performance requirements. A suitable validation plan assesses individual results and potential interactions within the panel.

Is multiplex always better than separate ELISAs?

The choice depends on sample volume, analytes, concentration ranges, throughput and validation needs. ABMIUM can help compare a panel with separate single-analyte assays.

Is a multiplex immunoassay the same as multiplex PCR?

No. Multiplex immunoassays usually measure several proteins using binding reagents; multiplex PCR measures nucleic-acid targets. State the analyte class and intended platform. Your selected route should match the biological question and available sample rather than the term multiplex alone.

Why does every analyte need its own performance assessment?

Panel members can differ in abundance, working range and interference. A single dilution or pooled result may conceal poor performance for one target. Define per-analyte sensitivity, precision, recovery and cross-reactivity requirements, and evaluate the panel in the intended matrix.

What affects the cost of multiplex assay development?

Pricing depends on panel size, platform, sample matrix, reagent availability and the performance studies for each analyte. ABMIUM provides a project-specific quotation after reviewing the requirement. Ask for a breakdown of stages, deliverables, optional studies and further-work decision points so you can compare the total scope rather than an entry price alone.
