Product description

Receptor tyrosine kinase binding ligands of the EGF family and activating several signalling cascades to convert extracellular cues into appropriate cellular responses. Known ligands include EGF, TGFA/TGF-alpha, AREG, epigen/EPGN, BTC/betacellulin, epiregulin/EREG and HBEGF/heparin-binding EGF. Ligand binding triggers receptor homo- and/or heterodimerization and autophosphorylation on key cytoplasmic residues.

For research use only.

EGFRepidermal growth factor receptor

View target guide

EGFR identifies epidermal growth factor receptor in Homo sapiens (Human). This target record connects NCBI Gene 1956, UniProtKB P00533 and related ABMIUM catalogue products.

Biological function: EGFR is a receptor tyrosine kinase that binds EGF-family ligands and converts extracellular growth signals into intracellular signalling responses. Ligand binding promotes receptor dimerisation and autophosphorylation, activating pathways that regulate cell proliferation, survival, differentiation and migration.
