ALCAM (CD166) is a cell-surface adhesion molecule of the immunoglobulin superfamily. In mouse, it is located on the external side of the plasma membrane and is expressed in multiple tissues, including the nervous system, lung, heart and genitourinary tissues. ALCAM participates in cell adhesion and migration, including interactions with CD6, and contributes to processes such as immune-cell communication and axon guidance.
This Boster Bio PicoKine® ELISA kit is designed for quantitative measurement of mouse ALCAM/CD166. The assay uses an ALCAM-specific capture system together with a biotinylated detection antibody and mouse ALCAM standard supplied by Boster.

ALCAM identifies activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule in Homo sapiens (Human). This target record connects NCBI Gene 214, UniProtKB Q13740 and related ABMIUM catalogue products.
Biological function: Activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule (ALCAM; CD166) is an immunoglobulin-superfamily transmembrane adhesion protein that mediates homophilic adhesion and heterophilic interactions including binding to CD6. It contributes to immune-cell adhesion, migration and tissue organisation.
