Clusterin (CLU, also known as apolipoprotein J) is a secreted chaperone with broad tissue expression. It is involved in extracellular protein homeostasis and has been associated with processes including cellular stress responses, cell death and tissue remodelling. Although predominantly secreted, clusterin can also be detected in the cytosol under some stress conditions.
