Product description

Background

MAPT encodes microtubule-associated protein tau, which is enriched in axons and stabilises microtubules. Alternative splicing generates multiple tau isoforms. Defective tau function and abnormal tau biology are associated with dementias including Alzheimer's disease.

Product profile: Reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat; Host: Rabbit; Clonality: Monoclonal; Clone: 32M21; Isotype: Rabbit IgG.

Applications: WB, IHC, IF/ICC.

Recommended conditions: Western blot, 1:500-2000; Immunohistochemistry, 1:50-200; Immunofluorescence, 1:50-200; Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence, 1:50-200.

Technical details: Immunogen: Synthetic phospho-peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Ser396 of human Tau.; Purification: Protein A affinity purified.; Concentration: 500 μg/ml.

Storage: Store at -20°C for one year. For short-term storage and frequent use, store at 4°C for up to one month. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Research target context

MAPTmicrotubule associated protein tau

View target guide

MAPT identifies microtubule associated protein tau in Homo sapiens (Human). This target record connects NCBI Gene 4137, UniProtKB P10636 and related ABMIUM catalogue products.

Biological function: MAPT encodes tau, a microtubule-associated protein that promotes microtubule assembly and stability and contributes to establishment and maintenance of neuronal polarity.
