Product description

Background

Reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. Participates in pH regulation. May be involved in the control of cell proliferation and transformation. Appears to be a novel specific biomarker for a cervical neoplasia.

Test principle

This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Human CA9 antibody. CA9 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CA9 Antibody is added and binds to CA9 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CA9 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CA9. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Research target context

CA9carbonic anhydrase 9

View target guide

Carbonic anhydrase 9 (CA9), also called carbonic anhydrase IX or CAIX, is a transmembrane zinc metalloenzyme involved in carbon dioxide/bicarbonate interconversion and pH regulation. ABMIUM catalogue products linked below support research on CA9 biology.

Biological function: Carbonic anhydrase 9 (CA9/CA IX/CAIX) is a transmembrane zinc-dependent carbonic anhydrase that catalyses the reversible interconversion of carbon dioxide and water with bicarbonate and hydrogen ions. Its expression is induced by hypoxia, linking CA9 to cellular acid-base regulation and hypoxia-associated research.
