Product description

Background

Growth/differentiation factor 9 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the GDF9 gene. Growth factors synthesized by ovarian somatic cells directly affect oocyte growth and function. Growth differentiation factor-9 (GDF9) is expressed in oocytes and is thought to be required for ovarian folliculogenesis. GDF9 is a member of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGFβ) superfamily.

Test principle

This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse GDF9 antibody. GDF9 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse GDF9 Antibody is added and binds to GDF9 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated GDF9 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse GDF9. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
