Product description

Background

Plays role in pre-mRNA splicing as core component of the SMN-Sm complex that mediates spliceosomal snRNP assembly and as component of the spliceosomal U1, U2, U4 and U5 small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (snRNPs), the building blocks of the spliceosome (PubMed:11991638, PubMed:18984161, PubMed:19325628, PubMed:23333303, PubMed:25555158, PubMed:26912367, PubMed:28502770, PubMed:28781166, PubMed:28076346). Component of both the pre-catalytic spliceosome B complex and activated spliceosome C complexes (PubMed:11991638, PubMed:26912367, PubMed:28502770, PubMed:28781166, PubMed:28076346). Is also a component of the minor U12 spliceosome (PubMed:15146077). May act as a charged protein scaffold to promote snRNP assembly or strengthen snRNP-snRNP interactions through non-specific electrostatic contacts with RNA (Probable).

Test principle

This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Human SNRPD1 antibody. SNRPD1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human SNRPD1 Antibody is added and binds to SNRPD1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated SNRPD1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human SNRPD1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
