Custom CAR-T Cell Development
Custom CAR-T research development from target and binder selection to cell engineering and functional testing. Scope constructs, controls and deliverables.
Specification reviewed before feasibility, pricing and lead time are confirmed.

Built around the experiment
Your project. A defined technical scope.
ABMIUM coordinates custom chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) research projects from a target molecule or an existing antibody sequence. The scope can link antibody development, scFv construction, CAR-vector preparation, T-cell engineering and functional assessment. Define the research question and starting material first, then select the stages needed. These are research services; cell generation and testing are commissioned against a specific project plan.
Specialist ProMab service routes can be coordinated through ABMIUM. Your quotation identifies the selected provider, agreed stages, available documentation and material or experimental deliverables.
ABMIUM reviews your specification and coordinates suitable custom-service and manufacturing routes. The proposed provider or manufacturer, available documentation and agreed scope are stated before order.

Technical scope
Start from a defined target or supply an existing antibody sequence. Where needed, antibody development and variable-region sequencing can precede scFv design. State antigen presentation, species and target-cell availability so binding-domain work is connected to the intended cellular assay.
CAR construct and vector preparation

Technical scope
Define the binding domain and discuss hinge, transmembrane and signalling-domain requirements. Lentiviral construct preparation and production can be included, with alternative delivery questions assessed separately. The selected architecture, sequences and material deliverables should be stated in the project scope.
T-cell activation, engineering and expansion
Discuss the T-cell source, activation, transduction or other agreed engineering route and expansion requirements. Include donor or subset requirements, intended cell amount...
Technical scope
Discuss the T-cell source, activation, transduction or other agreed engineering route and expansion requirements. Include donor or subset requirements, intended cell amount and handling constraints. CAR expression and cell characterisation are planned according to the experimental objective.
CAR-T expression and functional testing
Scope flow-cytometry assessment of CAR expression, target-cell cytotoxicity and cytokine measurements. Define effector-to-target conditions, controls, time points and readouts. In vivo studies...
Technical scope
Scope flow-cytometry assessment of CAR expression, target-cell cytotoxicity and cytokine measurements. Define effector-to-target conditions, controls, time points and readouts. In vivo studies can be commissioned as a linked preclinical module after the relevant feasibility review.

Clear answers before you enquire
Frequently asked questions
Can a project start from an antibody sequence?
Yes. An existing sequence can support a route beginning with binding-domain and CAR construct development rather than new antibody generation.
Can the antibody be developed as part of the project?
Antibody development can be quoted as an earlier stage. State your antigen and target-cell system so the linked programme can be assessed.
Which functional assays can be discussed?
CAR expression by flow cytometry, target-cell cytotoxicity and cytokine measurements are relevant options. The actual methods, controls and endpoints are defined in the quotation.
Are these CAR-T cells for patient treatment?
This page describes research-use development and testing. Any clinical manufacturing or patient-use request requires a separate, explicitly assessed scope.
What starting material is needed for a CAR-T project?
Provide the target and any available binder sequence, construct or source cells. Define the intended cell model, receptor design constraints and required experimental output. Discovery of a new binder and engineering from an existing sequence are different work packages.
Which functional tests should we request?
Consider antigen-dependent activity with appropriate positive and negative target cells, together with transduction, viability and phenotype measurements. Define co-culture conditions, readout timing and controls. Any claim about efficacy needs the relevant study evidence; these research services do not establish clinical suitability.
What affects the cost of custom car-t cell development?
Pricing depends on starting binder or construct, cell source, engineering route, production scale and functional study design. ABMIUM provides a project-specific quotation after reviewing the requirement. Ask for a breakdown of stages, deliverables, optional studies and further-work decision points so you can compare the total scope rather than an entry price alone.
