AHSG encodes alpha-2-HS-glycoprotein (fetuin-A), a secreted serum glycoprotein synthesized by hepatocytes and concentrated in bone matrix. The AHSG/fetuin-A target is studied in mineral handling, calcification, bone biology and metabolic or inflammatory physiology.
