Product description

Background

Thermolysin-like specificity, but is almost confined on acting on polypeptides of up to 30 amino acids. Biologically important in the destruction of opioid Peptides such as Met- and Leu-enkephalins by cleavage of a Gly-Phe bond. Able to cleave angiotensin-1, angiotensin-2 and angiotensin 1-9 (By similarity). Involved in the degradation of the atrial natriuretic factor (ANF) (By similarity). Displays UV-inducible elastase activity toward skin preelastic and elastic fibers (PubMed: 20876573).

Test principle

This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse MME antibody. MME present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse MME Antibody is added and binds to MME in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated MME antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse MME. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
