Product description

Background

DNA damage-inducible transcript 3, also known as C/EBP homologous protein (CHOP), is a pro-apoptotic transcription factor that is encoded by the DDIT3 gene. It is a member of the CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein (C/EBP) family of DNA-binding transcription factors. The protein functions as a dominant-negative inhibitor by forming heterodimers with other C/EBP members, preventing their DNA binding activity. The protein is implicated in adipogenesis and erythropoiesis, and has an important role in the cell's stress response.

Test principle

This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse Ddit3 antibody. Ddit3 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse Ddit3 Antibody is added and binds to Ddit3 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated Ddit3 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse Ddit3. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
