Background

ADAMTS-like protein 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ADAMTSL1 gene. This gene encodes a secreted protein resembling members of the ADAMTS (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motif) family. This protein lacks the propeptide region and the metalloproteinase and disintegrin-like domains, which are typical of the ADAMTS family, but contains other ADAMTS domains, including the thrombospondin type 1 motif. This protein may have important functions in the extracellular matrix. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, but their biological validity has not been determined

Test principle

This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Human ADAMTSL1 antibody. ADAMTSL1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human ADAMTSL1 Antibody is added and binds to ADAMTSL1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ADAMTSL1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human ADAMTSL1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
