Sulfametoxydiazine is a Sulfonamides drug used as a feed additive for calves and pigs. It can also treat intestinal infections, toxoplasmosis, and coccidiosis in livestock and aquatic animals. Sulfamethoxazole, like other sulfonamides drugs, can cause liver damage. Sulfametoxydiazine remaining in edible animals have certain health effects on the human body.

Test principle

This kit uses Competitive-ELISA as the method for the quantitative detection. It can detect Sulfametoxydiazine (SMD) in samples, such as muscle. This kit is composed of ELISA Microtiter plate, HRP conjugate, antibody working solution, standard and other supplementary reagents. The microtiter plate in thiskit has been pre-coated with coupled antigen. During the reaction, SMD in the samples or standard competes with coupled antigen on the solid phase supporter for sites of anti-SMD antibody. Then Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each microtiter plate well, and TMB substrate is added to color development. There is a negative correlation between the OD value of samples and the concentration of SMD. The concentration of SMD in the samples can be calculated by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
