Le récepteur TrkB, également connu sous le nom de TrkB tyrosine kinase ou récepteur des facteurs de croissance BDNF/NT-3 ou tyrosine kinase neurotrophique, récepteur, type 2, est une protéine qui, chez l'homme, est codée par le gène NTRK2. Le TrkB est le récepteur catalytique à haute affinité de plusieurs neurotrophines, qui sont de petits facteurs de croissance protéiques qui induisent la survie et la différenciation de populations cellulaires distinctes. Le récepteur TrkB fait partie de la grande famille des récepteurs tyrosine kinases. Une tyrosine kinase est une enzyme capable d'ajouter un groupe phosphate à certaines tyrosines sur des protéines cibles, ou substrats. Soppet et al. ont démontré que le produit du gène gp145 du gène TRKB est rapidement phosphorylé sur les résidus tyrosine lors de l'exposition au BDNF et au NTF3.
