Le ligand 7 de la chimiokine (motif C-X-C) (CXCL7), également appelé PPBP ou SCYB7, est un gène humain. La protéine encodée, le ligand de la chimiokine (motif C-X-C), est une petite cytokine appartenant à la famille des chimiokines CXC. Le CXCL7 est localisé en 4q13.3. C'est une protéine libérée en grande quantité par les plaquettes après leur activation. Le CXCL7 est le précurseur des 2 protéines des granules alpha plaquettaires, la protéine basique plaquettaire (PBP) et le peptide III activateur du tissu conjonctif (CTAP3). Il stimule divers processus, notamment la mitogenèse, la synthèse de la matrice extracellulaire, le métabolisme du glucose et la synthèse de l'activateur du plasminogène. Il stimule également la formation et la sécrétion de l'activateur du plasminogène par les cellules synoviales.
