La protéine de liaison aux facteurs de croissance analogues à l'insuline 2 (IGFBP2), également appelée IBP2, est une protéine qui, chez l'homme, est codée par le gène IGFBP2. Elle est localisée en 2q35. L'analyse structurelle a montré que le gène IGFBP2 se compose de 4 exons avec 3 introns de longueurs 27,0, 1,0 et 1,9 kb. L'IGFBP2 sécrétée par les cellules métastatiques recrute les endothéliales en modulant l'activation médiatisée par l'IGF1 du récepteur de type I de l'IGF sur les cellules endothéliales. Les voies de signalisation IGFBP2/IGF1/IGF1R et GAS6/MERTK sont des régulateurs du recrutement endothélial médiatisé par le cancer.
