La carboxypeptidase B2 (CPB2), également connue sous le nom de carboxypeptidase U (CPU), carboxypeptidase B plasmatique (pCPB) ou inhibiteur de la fibrinolyse activable par la thrombine (TAFI), est une enzyme qui, chez l'homme, est codée par le gène CPB2. La CPB2 est synthétisée par le foie et circule dans le plasma sous forme de zymogène lié au plasminogène. Lorsqu'elle est activée par protéolyse au niveau du résidu Arg92 par le complexe thrombine/thrombomoduline, la CPB2 présente une activité carboxypeptidase. La CPB2 activée réduit la fibrinolyse en éliminant les résidus C-terminaux de la fibrine qui sont importants pour la liaison et l'activation du plasminogène.
