L'anticorps pAb de lapin anti-Mac-2BP est un anticorps de biotechnologie ELK destiné aux flux de travail de recherche impliquant le Mac-2BP.
Les galectines sont une famille de protéines liant les bêta-galactosides, impliquées dans la modulation des interactions cellule-cellule et cellule-matrice. Le LGALS3BP a été trouvé élevé dans le sérum de patients atteints de cancer et de ceux infectés par le virus de l'immunodéficience humaine (VIH). Il semble être impliqué dans la réponse immunitaire associée à la cytotoxicité des cellules tueuses naturelles (NK) et des cellules tueuses activées par les lymphokines (LAK). En utilisant l'hybridation in situ par fluorescence, l'ADNc de pleine longueur de 90K a été localisé sur le chromosome 17q25. La protéine native se lie spécifiquement à une lectine associée aux macrophages humains connue sous le nom de Mac-2 et se lie également à la galectine 1. [fourni par RefSeq, juillet 2008].
