Ce gène code une protéine adaptatrice de signalisation avec deux domaines EH qui interagit avec des protéines participant à la signalisation, à l'endocytose et aux changements cytosquelettiques. La protéine codée a été trouvée en association avec l'intersectine 1 et la protéine 1 interagit avec le récepteur du facteur de croissance 2-like (endophiline) du domaine Src homologie 3 lorsque l'intersectine 1 a été isolée de puits recouverts de clathrine. La protéine codée a également montré une interaction avec l'amphiphysine, une protéine cytoplasmique à la surface des vésicules synaptiques.
