Le récepteur d'antigène des lymphocytes B est un complexe multimérique qui comprend le composant spécifique de l'antigène, l'immunoglobuline de surface (Ig). L'Ig de surface s'associe non covalemment à deux autres protéines, Ig-alpha et Ig-bêta, qui sont nécessaires à l'expression et à la fonction du récepteur d'antigène des cellules B. Ce gène code la protéine Ig-bêta du composant antigénique des cellules B. Des variants de transcrits épissés alternativement et codant différentes isoformes ont été décrits.
