Contexte

Ce gène code pour un membre de la famille des protéines alcool déshydrogénase à chaîne courte non métallisée. L'enzyme codée est responsable du métabolisme des prostaglandines, qui interviennent dans une variété de processus physiologiques et cellulaires tels que l'inflammation. Les mutations de ce gène entraînent une ostéoarthropathie hypertrophique autosomique récessive primaire et une crânioostéoarthropathie.
