caténine alpha 1 (CTNNA1) Homo sapiens Ce gène code pour un membre de la famille des protéines caténines qui jouent un rôle important dans le processus d'adhésion cellulaire en connectant les cadhérines situées sur la membrane plasmatique aux filaments d'actine à l'intérieur de la cellule. La protéine mécanosensible encodée contient trois domaines d'homologie de la vinculine et subit des changements de conformation en réponse à la tension cytosquelettique, entraînant la reconfiguration des connexions cadhérine-filament d'actine.
