MEK1 et MEK2, également appelées MAPK ou Erk kinases, sont des protéines kinases à double spécificité qui fonctionnent dans une cascade de protéines kinases activées par les mitogènes contrôlant la croissance et la différenciation cellulaires. Catalyse la phosphorylation concomitante d'un résidu thréonine et d'un résidu tyrosine dans une séquence Thr-Glu-Tyr située dans les MAP kinases. Active les MAP kinases ERK1 et ERK2.
