La glutaminase 2 (foie, mitochondriale) est une protéine qui, chez l'homme, est codée par le gène GLS2. La protéine codée par ce gène est une glutaminase mitochondriale activée par le phosphate qui catalyse l'hydrolyse de la glutamine en quantités stœchiométriques de glutamate et d'ammoniac. Initialement considérée comme spécifique au foie, cette protéine a également été trouvée dans d'autres tissus. L'épissage alternatif entraîne plusieurs variants de transcription qui codent pour différentes isoformes.
