L'antigène d'histocompatibilité HLA de classe II chaîne gamma, également connu sous le nom de chaîne invariante associée aux antigènes HLA-DR ou CD74 (Cluster de Différenciation 74), est une protéine qui, chez l'homme, est codée par le gène CD74. La protéine codée par ce gène s'associe au complexe majeur d'histocompatibilité (CMH) de classe II et est une chaperone importante qui régule la présentation de l'antigène pour la réponse immunitaire. Elle sert également de récepteur de surface cellulaire pour le facteur inhibiteur de la migration des macrophages (MIF), une cytokine qui, lorsqu'elle est liée à la protéine codée, initie des voies de survie et la prolifération cellulaire. Cette protéine interagit également avec la protéine précurseur amyloïde (APP) et supprime la production de bêta-amyloïde (Abeta). Plusieurs variantes de transcrits épissées alternativement et codant différentes isoformes ont été identifiées.
