Product description

Background

[Isoform 1]: Water Channel that mediates water transport across cell membranes irrespective of the cytosolic pH (PubMed: 1208$458.00|$300.001, PubMed: 21733844, PubMed: 23382902, PubMed: 30420639). The Channel is permeable to glycerol, especially when the cytosolic pH is acidified (PubMed: 21733844, PubMed: 30420639). Contributes to adipocyte water and glycerol permeability, and may thereby contribute to the utilization of glycerol derived from phospholipid degradation (PubMed: 23382902). May contribute to water transport in the intestine (Probable). [Isoform 2]: Water Channel that mediates water transport across cell membranes, but that is not permeable to glycerol.

Test principle

This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Human AQP10 antibody. AQP10 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human AQP10 Antibody is added and binds to AQP10 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated AQP10 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human AQP10. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
