Product description

Background

Component of the CENPA-CAD (nucleosome distal) complex, a complex recruited to centromeres which is involved in assembly of kinetochore proteins, mitotic progression and chromosome segregation. May be involved in incorporation of newly synthesized CENPA into centromeres via its interaction with the CENPA-NAC complex. Required for the localization of CENPF, MAD1L1 and MAD2 (MAD2L1 or MAD2L2) to kinetochores. Involved in the response of gonadal tissues to follicle-stimulating hormone.

Test principle

This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Human CENPI antibody. CENPI present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CENPI Antibody is added and binds to CENPI in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CENPI antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CENPI. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
