Amyloid-beta precursor protein (APP) is a single-pass type I membrane glycoprotein involved in neuronal adhesion, neurite growth and synaptic biology. APP traffics between the cell surface, Golgi and endosomal compartments, and proteolytic processing can generate soluble APP fragments and amyloid-beta peptides.
Boster Bio’s Anti-beta Amyloid/APP Antibody Picoband® is a rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against a synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human APP. It provides a primary antibody for research detection of APP.

Amyloid beta precursor protein (APP; amyloid-beta precursor protein) is a type I transmembrane protein that is processed by secretases into multiple biologically active fragments, including soluble APP forms and amyloid-beta peptides. It is studied in neuronal growth, adhesion, synaptic biology and amyloid processing.
Biological function: Reviewed UniProt describes APP as a cell-surface receptor with physiological roles in neurite growth, neuronal adhesion, axonogenesis and synaptogenesis. Proteolytic processing generates soluble APP fragments and amyloid-beta peptides, while intracellular interactions contribute to signalling and transcriptional regulation.
