ACHE is acetylcholinesterase (Yt blood group), encoding acetylcholinesterase (AChE). This record links the verified human identity (NCBI Gene 43; UniProt P22303) and established Yt blood-group context to ABMIUM catalogue products.
Biological function: Acetylcholinesterase (ACHE/AChE) rapidly hydrolyses acetylcholine to terminate cholinergic signal transmission at neuromuscular junctions and brain cholinergic synapses. ACHE protein is also present on red-blood-cell membranes, where it constitutes the Yt blood group antigen.
