Product description

RAGE, encoded by Ager, is a multiligand cell-surface receptor of the immunoglobulin superfamily. In rat tissues it is found at the plasma membrane and cell surface, where interactions with ligands including advanced glycation end products, S100 proteins and HMGB1 can influence inflammatory signalling, cell migration and stress responses.

This Boster Bio Rat RAGE ELISA Kit PicoKine® is designed for quantitative detection of rat Ager/RAGE. The assay uses RAGE-specific capture and detection reagents to measure the target in compatible rat samples.

Research target context

AGERadvanced glycosylation end-product specific receptor

View target guide

AGER is the advanced glycosylation end-product specific receptor, commonly known as RAGE. It is a multiligand cell-surface receptor that senses advanced glycation end products and other endogenous stress-associated ligands, linking extracellular stress signals to inflammatory cellular responses.

Biological function: AGER/RAGE is an immunoglobulin-superfamily pattern-recognition receptor that binds multiple structurally diverse ligands, including advanced glycation end products, S100 proteins and HMGB1. Ligand engagement activates intracellular signalling programmes that can include NF-kappa-B and other inflammatory pathways, allowing cells to respond to tissue stress and damage-associated signals.
