Core subunit of the mitochondrial membrane respiratory chain NADH dehydrogenase (Complex I) which catalyses electron transfer from NADH through the respiratory chain, using ubiquinone as an electron acceptor. NDUFS3 is essential for the catalytic activity and assembly of complex I.
