Brain-specific G protein-coupled receptor involved in regulating diverse physiological processes including neurite outgrowth, meiotic arrest, and lipid and carbohydrate metabolism. GPR12 functions as a receptor with constitutive G(s)-mediated signalling activity that stimulates cyclic AMP (cAMP) production. Also engages the G(i)/G(o) pathway, which counteracts the cAMP increase driven by G(s) activation.
