Product description

Background

Produced by activated monocytes and neutrophils and expressed at sites of inflammation. Hematoregulatory chemokine, which, in vitro, suppresses hematopoietic progenitor cell proliferation. GRO-beta(5-73) shows a highly enhanced hematopoietic activity.

Test principle

This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Human CXCL12 antibody. CXCL12 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CXCL12 Antibody is added and binds to CXCL12 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CXCL12 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CXCL12. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Research target context

CXCL2C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 2

View target guide

C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 2 (CXCL2), also known as GRO-beta and MIP-2a, is an inflammatory CXC chemokine expressed at sites of inflammation. This hub connects verified names and identifiers with ABMIUM catalogue products.

Biological function: C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 2 (CXCL2; GRO-beta/MIP-2a) is a secreted inflammatory chemokine produced by activated monocytes and neutrophils. Reviewed UniProt evidence supports chemokine activity, chemotaxis and inflammatory-response biology, while NCBI notes expression at sites of inflammation.
