Product description

Background

Regulates G protein-coupled receptor signaling cascades. Inhibits signal transduction by increasing the GTPase activity of G protein alpha subunits, thereby driving them into their inactive GDP-bound form (PubMed:11063746, PubMed:19478087). It is involved in the negative regulation of the angiotensin-activated signaling pathway (PubMed:28784619). Plays a role in the regulation of blood pressure in response to signaling via G protein-coupled receptors and GNAQ. Plays a role in regulating the constriction and relaxation of vascular smooth muscle (By similarity). Binds EIF2B5 and blocks its activity, thereby inhibiting the translation of mRNA into protein (PubMed:19736320).

Test principle

This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Human RGS2 antibody. RGS2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human RGS2 Antibody is added and binds to RGS2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated RGS2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human RGS2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
