Product description

Background

Functions as a receptor for membrane-bound ligands Jagged1, Jagged2 and Delta1 to regulate cell-fate determination. Upon ligand activation through the released notch intracellular domain (NICD) it forms a transcriptional activator complex with RBPJ/RBPSUH and activates genes of the enhancer of split locus. Affects the implementation of differentiation, proliferation and apoptotic programs. May regulate branching morphogenesis in the developing vascular system (By similarity).

Test principle

This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Human NOTCH4 antibody. NOTCH4 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human NOTCH4 Antibody is added and binds to NOTCH4 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated NOTCH4 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human NOTCH4. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
