Product description

Background

Key regulator of transforming growth factor beta (TGFB1, TGFB2 and TGFB3) that controls TGF-beta activation by maintaining it in a latent state during storage in extracellular space (PubMed: 7593177). Associates specifically via disulfide bonds with the Latency-associated Peptide (LAP), which is the regulatory chain of TGF-beta, and regulates integrin-dependent activation of TGF-beta (By similarity). Outcompeted by LRRC32/GARP for binding to LAP regulatory chain of TGF-beta (By similarity).

Test principle

This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Rat LTBP1 antibody. LTBP1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat LTBP1 Antibody is added and binds to LTBP1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated LTBP1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat LTBP1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
