Product description

Background

Cytokine that binds to TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. It is mainly secreted by macrophages and can induce cell death of certain tumor cell lines. It is potent pyrogen causing fever by direct action or by stimulation of interleukin-1 secretion and is implicated in the induction of cachexia, Under certain conditions it can stimulate cell proliferation and induce cell differentiation.

Test principle

This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Chicken TNF-α antibody. TNF-α present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Chicken TNF-α Antibody is added and binds to TNF-α in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated TNF-α antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Chicken TNF-α. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
