Product description

Rat ATG3(Autophagy Related Protein 3) ELISA Kit is a research-use ELISA kit from ELK Biotechnology for measuring ATG3 in Serum, Plasma, Tissue homogenates, Other biological fluids samples from Rat. Use the listed assay range, sample guidance and protocol documents to assess suitability for the intended study.

Test principle

The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat ATG3. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Rat ATG3. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Rat ATG3, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Rat ATG3 in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

Research target context

ATG3autophagy related 3

View target guide

ATG3 encodes an E2-like conjugating enzyme required for lipidation of ATG8-family proteins during autophagosome formation. This target record connects reviewed human ATG3 identifiers with ABMIUM catalogue products targeting ATG3.

Biological function: ATG3 is an E2 conjugating enzyme in the autophagy machinery. It catalyses covalent conjugation of ATG8-family proteins, including LC3 and GABARAP family members, to phosphatidylethanolamine-containing membrane lipids. ATG3 cycles between ATG7-mediated loading and the ATG12-ATG5-ATG16L1 E3-like complex to promote ATG8 lipidation and formation of autophagic isolation membranes.
