Research context & evidence

About ANG

Target information is kept separate from product-level validation so you can review the biology and the reagent evidence independently.

Biology

Biological function

ANG encodes angiogenin, a secreted member of the pancreatic RNase A family. Curated NCBI and reviewed UniProt evidence supports its ribonuclease activity, promotion of endothelial angiogenic responses, nucleolar stimulation of ribosomal RNA transcription and stress-dependent cleavage of cellular tRNAs that can influence protein synthesis.

Experimental context

Research context

ANG is studied in vascular biology, ribonuclease-dependent signalling, RNA metabolism and cellular stress responses. Experimental interpretation should distinguish extracellular angiogenic effects from intracellular RNA-processing functions and account for species, cell state, sample type and assay format.
