GPI-anchored cell membrane protein involved in Nodal signalling. Cell-associated CRIPTO acts as a Nodal coreceptor in cis. Shedding of CRIPTO by TMEM8A modulates Nodal signalling by allowing soluble CRIPTO to act as a Nodal coreceptor on other cells.
