Wnt inhibitory factor 1 ist ein Protein, das beim Menschen durch das WIF1-Gen kodiert wird. Das von diesem Gen kodierte Protein fungiert als Hemmer von WNT-Proteinen, die extrazelluläre Signalmoleküle sind und eine Rolle bei der Embryonalentwicklung spielen. Zusätzlich enthält dieses Protein eine WNT-Inhibitor-Domäne (WIF) und fünf Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)-ähnliche Domänen und soll an der Mesodermsegmentierung beteiligt sein. Dieses Gen fungiert als Tumorsuppressorgen und wurde in verschiedenen Krebsarten epigenetisch stillgelegt gefunden.
