Surfactant-Pulmonary-Associated Protein D, auch bekannt als SFTPD oder SP-D, ist ein Protein, das beim Menschen vom SFTPD-Gen kodiert wird. Durch Fluoreszenz-in-situ-Hybridisierung wurde das SP-D-Gen in 10q22.2-q23.1 lokalisiert. Basierend auf der Homologie mit anderen Kollektinen umfassen potenzielle Funktionen für SP-D Rollen in der angeborenen Immunität und im Surfactant-Stoffwechsel. SP-D wird im bronchiolären und terminalen Epithel der menschlichen fetalen Lunge ab etwa 21 Wochen Schwangerschaft produziert. Darüber hinaus fungieren SP-A und SP-D als Dual-Funktions-Überwachungsmoleküle, die ihre Orientierung und Funktion umkehren und zu Initiatoren von Wirtsabwehrreaktionen werden.
