EPO identifies erythropoietin in Homo sapiens (Human). This target record connects NCBI Gene 2056, UniProtKB P01588 and related ABMIUM catalogue products.
Biological function: EPO is a secreted glycoprotein hormone that regulates erythrocyte proliferation and differentiation and helps maintain circulating red-cell mass. Binding to EPOR activates receptor-associated JAK2 and downstream signalling.
