Das Bone Morphogenetic Protein 7 oder BMP7 (auch bekannt als Osteogenisches Protein-1 oder OP-1) ist ein Protein, das beim Menschen durch das BMP7-Gen kodiert wird. Das durch dieses Gen kodierte Protein gehört zur TGF-beta-Superfamilie. Wie andere Mitglieder der Bone Morphogenetic Protein-Familie spielt es eine Schlüsselrolle bei der Transformation von mesenchymalen Zellen in Knochen und Knorpel. Es wird durch Noggin und ein ähnliches Protein, Chordin, gehemmt, die im Spemann-Mangold-Organisator exprimiert werden. BMP7 könnte an der Knochenhomöostase beteiligt sein. Es wird im Gehirn, in den Nieren und in der Blase exprimiert.
