Der Humane APOD (Apolipoprotein D) ELISA Kit ist ein ELISA-Kit von ELK Biotechnology zur Forschungsmessung von APOD.
Das in diesem Kit angewandte Testprinzip ist ein Sandwich-Enzymimmunoassay. Die in diesem Kit enthaltene Mikrotiterplatte wurde mit einem Antikörper vorbeschichtet, der spezifisch für humanes APOD ist. Standards oder Proben werden in die entsprechenden Mikrotiterplattenvertiefungen gegeben, dann mit einem Biotin-konjugierten Antikörper, der spezifisch für humanes APOD ist. Anschließend wird Avidin, das an Meerrettichperoxidase (HRP) konjugiert ist, zu jeder Mikrotiterplattenvertiefung gegeben und inkubiert. Nach Zugabe der TMB-Substratlösung zeigen nur jene Vertiefungen, die humanes APOD, Biotin-konjugierten Antikörper und Enzym-konjugiertes Avidin enthalten, eine Farbänderung. Die Enzym-Substrat-Reaktion wird durch Zugabe von Schwefelsäurelösung beendet und die Farbänderung wird spektrophotometrisch bei einer Wellenlänge von 450 nm ± 10 nm gemessen. Die Konzentration von humanem APOD in den Proben wird dann durch Vergleich der OD der Proben mit der Standardkurve bestimmt.

Apolipoprotein D (APOD; ApoD/Apo-D) is a secreted lipid-binding glycoprotein associated mainly with high-density lipoprotein (HDL). It binds cholesterol and other hydrophobic ligands and is studied in lipid transport and lipoprotein biology.
Biological function: APOD is a secreted lipid-binding glycoprotein of the lipocalin family. Reviewed UniProt supports cholesterol-binding and lipid-transporter activity, association with lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT), probable bilin transport, and the capacity to carry diverse hydrophobic ligands. In plasma, APOD is enriched in HDL.
