Disintegrin- und Metalloproteinase-Domäne-enthaltendes Protein 15 ist ein Enzym, das beim Menschen durch das ADAM15-Gen kodiert wird. Das durch dieses Gen kodierte Protein gehört zur ADAM-Proteinfamilie (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase). Mitglieder der ADAM-Familie sind Typ-I-Transmembran-Glykoproteine, die bekanntermaßen an der Zelladhäsion und der proteolytischen Ektodomänen-Verarbeitung von Zytokinen und Adhäsionsmolekülen beteiligt sind. Dieses Protein enthält mehrere funktionelle Domänen, darunter eine Zink-bindende Metalloprotease-Domäne, eine Disintegrin-ähnliche Domäne sowie eine EGF-ähnliche Domäne. Über seine Disintegrin-ähnliche Domäne interagiert dieses Protein spezifisch mit der Integrin-Beta-Kette, Beta 3. Es interagiert auch mit Src-Familien-Protein-Tyrosinkinasen in einer Phosphorylierungs-abhängigen Weise, was darauf hindeutet, dass dieses Protein sowohl bei der Zell-Zell-Adhäsion als auch bei der zellulären Signalgebung eine Funktion haben könnte. Es wurden mehrere alternativ gespleißte Transkriptvarianten beobachtet, die unterschiedliche Isoformen kodieren.
