Prostaglandin-D-Synthase ist ein Mitglied der Sigma-Klasse der Glutathion-S-Transferase-Familie. Das Enzym katalysiert die Umwandlung von PGH2 zu PGD2 und spielt eine Rolle bei der Produktion von Prostanoiden im Immunsystem und in Mastzellen. Das Vorhandensein dieses Enzyms kann zur Identifizierung des Differenzierungsstadiums menschlicher Megakaryozyten verwendet werden. [bereitgestellt von RefSeq, Juli 2008].
